Meow Wolf and Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park have partnered for an immersive and interactive shooter ride, called Kaleidoscape.
Meow Wolf‘s Kaleidoscape will transport riders using motion, sound, colour and interactive moments to create an immersive world around them.
The theme park ride opens to the public on April 20 at Elitch Gardens, Meow Wolf Denver’s new neighbour.
“All of us at Elitch Gardens are thrilled to be partnering with Meow Wolf to create this unique, mysterious and artistic new ride,” said Layne Pitcher, marketing director for Elitch Gardens.
“The park is a long-standing Denver staple known for offering one-of-a-kind family fun and this new ride will continue that tradition in its most original way ever.”
The attraction has turned Elitch’s ageing dark ride, Ghost Blasters II, into a series of hallucinogenic landscapes. Each landscape, a unique work created by a different Meow Wolf artist, blend together along the ride’s track.
“We pulled out about 50 of the hydraulics from (Ghost Blasters II) and worked on them,” Meow Wolf co-founder, Matt King, told The Denver Post.

“It was a really exciting opportunity to be able to come in, strip everything out and reimagine it. We definitely let the materials on-hand guide what the final product was going to be.”
Emily Montoya, Meow Wolf co-founder, added: “We wanted to have a story arc going through it, but within that have infinite variety to the landscape and colour and sound, with maximum density at every turn.”
Meow Wolf’s Kaleidoscape is a prequel experience to the company’s blockbuster Denver exhibit in 2020.
